(Leer en español) I have been living in Israel for 10 months (only 3 weeks to get back home!). I have had the fortune to travel within this country quite a bit, to experience a different culture, a new kind of gastronomy, a language barrier and a new milestone in my education.

When I was a kid my mum used to work supervising projects in the south of Peru therefore she would travel a lot and would take me as her +1, I think I can trace back until that moment to when my passion for travelling started. Going on and off busses/planes, getting to know new people, experiencing things for the first time, that’s how my passion was shaped.

I haven’t been to as many countries as I would have like to, but the world is not going anywhere, and I am still up to take a flight and land anywhere. Ironically, and gladly, my first international trip was to the country that has been hosting these past few months.

At my farewell party, my little cousin said: «I hope you look for, for what you find», she was actually trying to say: I hope you find what you are looking for but she got confused and we all laughed at her. Now her words still resonate in me, honestly Daniela, everything I have found in my time here was exactly what I was looking for, I just did not know I was.

I am going back home soon, and I am definitely not the same girl. They say travelling changes you, I think in my case, it enhanced who I already was. I have got the chance to test my limits, to reinforce my decisions, to empower myself, and most importantly, to get out of my comfort zone.

I want to keep challenging myself, exploring cultures and languages I am not familiar with. Trying food and clothes that are not what I am used to. I want to reinforce who I am while expanding the conquest of unknown territories. At the end of the day, a person that travels is the sum of the places she was at.
